Deut 8 Lest you Forget
Bible Text: Deuteronomy 8 | Speaker: Dr. Clint Roberts
The great New England minister, educator & writer Cotton Mather wrote, “Religion begat prosperity, and the daughter devoured the mother.” Back in Deuteronomy, after Moses gives the commandments, God tells the people that the land in which they will ultimately settle is a fantastic place where they will live ‘the good life.’ Then comes a warning not to forget Who gave it to them, and His truths, commands, and promises. This cycle of sacrifice leading to blessing leading to decadence is repeated throughout history. This warning is as relevant today as it ever was.
